The Workshop Series
The mindfulness and attention workshop is the first in a series. The purpose of the workshop series is to help you develop your own Life practice, i.e. a way of practicing your everyday life, training your body, mind, emotions, and spirit to make your relationship with yourself better. For each person, the specifics of this are different. This series will teach you how.
What to Expect
The workshop on Attention & Mindfulness is about working on attention and mindfulness. There will be exactly zero PowerPoint slides.

Format is pretty straightforward: I will talk about a concept in attention/mindfulness. We will all stand up (or sit, depending) and demonstrate that concept or try it out. Then we will "report out" and talk about what just happened.

There are roughly 9 segments of this, rinse repeat, that build on each other and slowly introduce related concepts.

You do not need to have any sort of physical endurance or fitness level to do this class. All the segments that require any movement are adaptable to you and have options.
What You Will Get
Aside from the lessons in the workshop, you will receive:

-
A list of at least five low-impact physical movements you can do at work for times when you need a short break
What to Bring
Bring yourself in comfortable casual clothing. Workout sweats or yoga pants are perfectly acceptable.

Other helpful items:
-
A yoga mat (depending on the location, you might want to sit on it)
-
A pillow (see above)
What to Do After
The workshop will suggest to you several exercises that you can incorporate into your daily practice. Pick one or more of these and continue to do them, OR, create one of your own that uses the concepts taught in class but matches your needs more closely.
